Women’s College Soccer

If you know a high school student with an interest in competing in the sport of women’s soccer at the college level, have them listen to last week’s blog radio show as we were pleased to have Coach Eric Faulconer as our guest. Faulconer is the head women’s soccer coach at Armstong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA.

The former Deputy Commissioner of the professional Eastern Indoor Soccer League, Faulconer has built two collegiate women’s soccer programs, first at Thomas University where he lead his team to the NAIA National Championship in 2003, then at Armstrong Atlantic University where he started a program in 2005 that finished 11-8 in its first season. Coach Faulconer’s record at Armstrong Atlantic is 121-36-15, including recognition as Peach Belt Conference Coach of the Year for the past three seasons, and National Soccer Coaches Association of America [NSCAA] Southeast Region Coach of the Year for four straight years.

His 2011 team advanced to the Final Four and finished the season ranked #3 in NSCAA Division II national ranking. This past fall, 2012, his team earned the Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament championships. Coach Faulconer knows his soccer and shared a lot of that knowledge with our audience.
